About Me:
I am a self-taught programmer who has been learning for many years. Along the way I have come across many programming languages and have worked on many applications. I have focused mainly on C++ as I am aware of its wide use in the gaming industry which is where I am to be. Currently I am focusing on using C++ within Unreal Engine 4. Before this I was learning new features introduced in C++11/14 which are part of the new standard. I mostly work on Windows using Visual Studio 2013 but have had some experience with cross compilation on the Raspberry Pi.
I have had experience using the version control engine GitHub within the Visual Studio IDE. On my current project I am working with Perforce (another source control engine).
On the side I have had experience with other programming languages. I’ve had a rather wide experience with the web languages PHP, SQL, HTML, JavaScript (including jQuery) and CSS. Currently I am the web administrator for this website and manage the various code related tasks. The blog is using WordPress as it makes it convenient for my team to access and post their content. I am however currently building a user database interface which will allow people to register on the Turtle Games website and have various statistics linked with their accounts which will be used to login to any future games we release.
Quite recently I looked into the NodeJS platform which allowed me and my team to create S.A.R.A.H. This was a serious application which allowed students in a class to get into teams and compete with each other using Google Cardboard and a modern browser like Chrome.
I have also used Google App Script to create a Web App which allowed users to register for a Questionnaire service. The Questionnaire administrator would then be able to send questionnaires to their users using various filters. All the information collected was viewable live for both the users and the administrators via simple charts.
